Works best with a gamepad, but also supports mobile devices!
Spacebar to mute sounds.
Start/Menu/Pkey - to pause and view stats
Select/View/AKey - to drop held element
A/ Zkey - Jump
B/Ckey - Attack
X/Xkey - Guard
Y/->->(tap arrow key) - Dash
Up - Enter Doors
Down - Crouch
Crouch+Jump in midair to slam
Hold Attack to charge a ranged bolt
Defeat enough enemies on each stage to collect a powerup, and progress to the next level. Reaching 0 HP will reset you back to the first stage. Currently, you don't lose items upon dying, so just have fun trying new things out.
Items - Collecting an item will increase your stats and give you a unique ability!
Some items;
Ifrit's Horn: Blaze (+5 ATK) extra damage over time. ATK scales how much damage your attacks deal.
*now damage on each tick decays exponentially the more it ticks, a measure to balance damage for an enemy that is burning past just 3 or 5 ticks.
Shiva's Rock: Frost (+5 DEF) slows enemies. DEF scales how much resistance you have to attacks. Damage cannot be reduced past 1 unless actually guarding.
Ramuh's Pelt: Spark(+5 SPD) spreads damage to nearby enemies. SPD scales how quickly you move and attack.
Ambrosia Leaf: Plant(+5 RES) attacks heal you for a small amount. RES scales how well your character heals and recovers from damage.
Compact Meteor: Quake (+5 INT) buff your leading stats. INT scales the efficiency of your items, effectively making them stronger.
Psionic Shroom: Toxic (+5 CHA) debuff an enemy's stats. CHA scales the chances of items' effects landing. Things like status effects, blocking attacks, and critical hits rely on chance.

Beautiful aesthetic with fun gameplay. Close combat is reeaaally satisfying. This game has a high potential ceiling.
It looks quite good already and plays nicely, but it's a bit unpolished. Whenever I press the arrow keys the browser scrolls, so I can't use up or down arrow properly. Also, the sounds cut out at some point after I died and started a second game. When zooming the browser window the layout of the game gets all messed up
